open spaces & country park

As a key element of garden community principles, open spaces have been foundational to the planning of the Lidsing Garden Community. The location of the Lidsing Garden Community at the southern end of the Capstone Corridor provides an opportunity to establish enhanced biodiversity and cycleway/pedestrian linkages between the development and the existing Capstone Country Park to the north. Within the Garden Community, open spaces will principally follow a pattern of ‘green fingers’ running north-south across the site, which follow the natural topography and reflect the overarching drainage strategy. These green fingers will provide pedestrian and cycle connections across the Garden Community and incorporate new species and habitat planting as well as sustainable drainage features in the form of SuDS.
